Business Litigation Attorney

Commercial Litigation and Business Attorney wanted! We are hiring for a national law firm’s Columbia, SC office. Their team is skilled and at the forefront of business litigation and transactional law as a full-service law firm. This team is looking for an attorney with a few years of litigation experience, preferably in business law. This position allows you to grow with a smaller team of attorneys but with the resources of a large firm. This is an excellent opportunity to find a mentor and grow your business litigation skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handling litigation from intake through trial with minimal supervision
• Formulate and develop case strategy, advise clients on risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options
• Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, and memorandum
• Guide clients through the case process
• Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
• Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
• Consistent communication with their team and clients
• Other tasks as necessary

Minimum and Additional Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school; active SC Bar member
• 1-2 years of attorney experience, preferably in corporate litigation
• Detail-oriented, hardworking team player
• Strong research, organizational, and analytical skills
• Clear communication and legal writing abilities
• Knowledge of state and federal court procedures
• Trial and arbitration experience preferred
• Willing to travel and lift documents; office work required
