Business Litigation Partner

Join a growing national law firm in Charleston, SC, seeking an experienced business litigation attorney to lead its local practice. The firm specializes in business litigation, corporate law, start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, commercial transactions, and serving as outside general counsel.

Job Responsibilities:

• Handling litigation from intake through trial with minimal supervision
• Formulate and develop case strategy, advise clients on risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options
• Drafting and filing of litigation documents to include pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, motions, and memorandum
• Guide clients through the case process
• Interaction with expert witnesses to include conferences, drafting of expert reports, and affidavits
• Attendance and preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
• Consistent communication with their team and clients
• Other tasks as necessary

Minimum and Additional Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school and active SC Bar member
• 4-10 years of attorney experience in corporate litigation, business transactions, and civil procedure
• Detail-oriented, hardworking team player and motivated self-starter
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze legal facts, craft pleadings, and understand court procedures
• Experience in client development, marketing legal services, and trying cases
• Familiar with arbitration and mediation
• May require travel and overtime, including lifting documents
• Preferred: some book of business
