CLA has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time legal assistant for a well-established law firm located in Charleston, SC. The legal assistant would join the litigation practice group and assist attorneys and other support staff with duties to include but are not limited to:  Preparing conflict checks, legal transcription/dictation, downloading filings, correspondence, travel arrangements, billing, invoice processing, and other duties as assigned in other departments as requested or needed.  Successful candidates will possess great attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work within a team setting.  Prior experience in a busy general litigation practice is a plus.  Full-time positions receive a competitive salary and benefits package.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation and drafting of pleadings and discovery
  • Must have basic computer proficiency, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex legal and business documents
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Ability to identify problems, establish facts, and collect data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
